學生義工募集中，目前需要數名學生義工協助pre-k老師課堂助理或一年級班學生課後輔導，pre-k 學生助教義工完成該班老師指派任務及一年級學生義工完成課後輔導（直接與家長溝通需要協助事項，不經由一年級班老師），將由密西根中文學校發放義工時數證明 。社區服務優先開放給密西根中文學校在職教師及本學年註冊家庭中美國高中九年級以上學生(包含已從中文學校畢業，弟妹還在校就讀的校友)，有意願服務者請在 Sat (Dec 11, 2021)前登記，之後將開放給校外有興趣的學生參與，詳細規則請參閱登記連結。

Hope all is well and everyone had a great, relaxed Thanksgiving holiday last week.  The pre-ordering for our annual bake/rummage sale event will end tomorrow (Dec 4), and since we will NOT offer any on-site purchase this year please place your order soon in case you are interested.  Also, we still need more parent volunteers to make this event a success so please sign up via the link below.  For those of you who haven’t picked up your school directory yet, please stop by at the table outside of the classroom area to obtain your copy. Below please find a few announcements, including the student volunteering opportunities, for our 11th week of the class tomorrow.

• Keeping the school hours by ringing the bell at the beginning and the end of each class
• Keeping students in order and safe during recess (e.g., no student running/chasing allowed inside the Ward church)

Student Volunteering Opportunities! (Sign-Up Here)

We are seeking student volunteers to be the teaching assistants to our Pre-K teacher and/or after-class tutors for our G1 students.  All actual volunteering hours will be tracked and provided with MCS’s community service hour certificates.  The spots will be open for the students from the  current MCS registering families (teachers included) to sign up until Sat (Dec 11, 2021) before we open the remaining spots to other external students who are interested.  Please refer to detailed instructions within the sign-up link above.

MCS Annual Bake/Food/Item Sale (PRE-ORDER Only. Order NOW until 4-Dec-2021, No EXTRAS will be available on site for Sale)

It is time to help raise funds to support the MCS! Our goal is to raise $1,000+ net profit.

Due to COVID and food regulations the church has provided, the sale will be different this year. 

Pre-orders only. No additional food sales on site. Pre-payment is requested with Zelle to MCS account, cash, or check. 

Delivery Date for pre-order food items is 11-Dec-2021.

• Disinfect and bring day of where a volunteer will price to sell

3. Sign-up to Volunteer to support the fundraiser

Volunteers are needed to

• Pick up food from vendors (Ann Arbor, Novi, other)
• Organize and help distribute food items at pick-up stations (new method this year due to Church rules)

Items are priced to help raise funds for the school. Funds can go to support facility rental, teachers, cultural and community building programs, etc.

MCS is a non-profit co-op organization with students’ parents serving various non-teaching staff positions as volunteers to help create a self-sufficient, community oriented Chinese learning environment.  Serving as MCS volunteer is a great way to get involved and expand your network with other MCS families, and any help you could provide is greatly appreciated.  Each volunteer family is eligible for a $30 volunteer reward at the end of the school year.
