Dear MCS Families,

Hope everyone enjoyed watching the great lion dance performance by the Michigan Lion Dance Club last week (watch replay here with special thanks to Mrs. Chin’s kind sharing!) On behalf of all MCS families, I would like to give a big shout-out to all the club members, their families, and all MCS staff/teachers involved to make this performance a great success, immersing all the audiences with cheerful CNY spirits!

Tomorrow is the pick-up day for the pre-order of our bake sale (round 2).  The order confirmation and pick-up instructions have been separately communicated to the families placing the order, but there will also be parent volunteers onsite to help facilitate the pick-up.  Similar to our previous round in Dec last year, when the classes are in session, please lower your volume as you enter into the classroom area for pick-up.  In addition, while we will not run a rummage sale this time, there’ll be i-phone compatible charging cord sets (three cords per set) for sale tomorrow (special thanks to Ivan Tang for his kind donation to MCS!)

On Sunday, Feb 13, 2022 (7:30- 9 p.m. EST), there will be a free online webinar (subject: 2021 Tax Return Update) offered by a local financial services firm which is a long-term sponsor to MCS’s directory advertisement campaign.  The webinar will be conducted in Mandarin with pre-registration required using the link here.

Despite the improvement of the overall COVID-19 situation, please continue to stay vigilant against  COVID-19 and be reminded of a few safety protocols below.

• Students should review the student at-home screening sheet before arriving at school.  
• If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please contact your teacher and class parent rep.  
• A student or staff member who tests positive for COVID-19 must quarantine for two weeks.
• Universal masking upon entering the Ward Church facility.

MCS is a non-profit co-op organization with students’ parents serving various non-teaching staff positions as volunteers to help create a self-sufficient, community oriented Chinese learning environment.  Serving as MCS volunteer is a great way to get involved and expand your network with other MCS families, and any help you could provide is greatly appreciated.  Each volunteer family is eligible for a $30 volunteer reward at the end of the school year.
